What Happens When You’re Overconfident?

Confidence is key in every entreprend. And yes we do need to own our confidence. But there is a problem when you are too confident about yourself. What is over-confidence? Over-confidence is a superior belief in oneself over things that an individual undertake.

Is that a good thing? Absolutely not.

So what happens when a person is too confident?

  1. Impatient. People who believe they can do it all and they’re better than everyone else in everything they do, tend to lose patience when they can’t get things done the way they want to.
  2. Value quantity more than quality. I do understand that quantity is an important facet –in sales particularly. Hence, the quality of the items is also a very essential factor –, especially in business.
  3. Too prideful. Those who are overly confident tend to be prideful. No need to gaze about your talents. I know you got it together. Yes, we know! But slow down my friend, don’t let your pride manage your behaviors.
  4. Lack of support. Who wants to help someone who thinks they know it all? Or they get it together? No one would help someone who believes they got it. Not me! So when someone is displaying behaviors of over-confidence, they lose their support system.
  5. Arrogance reigns. It’s ok to know that there are areas that you can perform extremely-well than someone else. But when you are prideful over your skills and talents and feel like you should be in the spotlight at all times, this could lead to arrogance. You no longer listen to others’ viewpoints. You can’t grasp others’ ideas on new practices. Arrogance takes the lead in your characteristics and sternly decrease your level of humility.

To be overconfident is a curse, not a blessing. We should –of course– be confident in our endeavors as well in our skills and talents.  But also, we shouldn’t be arrogant, impatient prideful, value quantity more than quality.

We are motivating you to quit over-confidence so you can better your comportment in all aspects.

Perhaps you could do a quick self-evaluation to see if you’ve ever shown signs of over-confidence? Shall we?
