When You Know Better, You Do Better: Interview With Jeffsky Poincy Of FuckUp Nights Port-au-Prince
After years of working, many entrepreneurs look back to their journey for defeats and set-backs they have encountered. Absolutely no one has can’t confirmed that they did not face challenges or failures in their entrepreneurial journeys. Thus, we can all agree that –may be- if they knew ahead of those expected circumstances, they could have done better because when you know better, you do better.
What if there was a platform: where entrepreneurs could tell their stories? Could share their journeys? Could speak of their defeats? Or what if we knew of some wrong turns or dead-ends before we take on the road to creating our businesses? Would that help us avoid some unpractical steps?
Then we would know exactly which way to go ensuring that we succeed in our business endeavors. Believe you me, many people fail simply because they did not know about some challenges and defeats before they engage in entrepreneurship.
Most of us want to enter the business world, perhaps as an entrepreneur. We have the perfect idea. We have the absolute framework. We can established the appropriate working model. We want to create and design the new thing. We are fueled up to work on our dreams. But do we actually know the right way to go? Do we actually have the right partners to work with? Do we know how much to be invested in developing that business?
So if you’re in Haiti, and you want to start a business, check out Fuckup Nights Port-au-Prince. The idea comes with a young professional turned into entrepreneur, and now seeking to instill to others what he has learned —with the hope to invest in the Youth in Haiti and to promote the participation of the latter demographic in Haiti’s economic development.
FuckUp Nights is a global movement that consist of story-telling of professional failure. The organization has established local chapters in several different countries including Haiti, USA, and Canada. They create social events, each month, to highlight entrepreneurs’ defeats and failures during their journeys to reaching success in entrepreneurship.
We’re living in a result-focused world. Most people just want to welcome you when you reach success, but won’t really tell you the highs and lows in reaching the top.
According to Jeffsky Poinsky, Founder of FuckUp Nights PAP and BUSY, people need to know of others’ defeats and failures. It’s ok to fail. But let other people know how you have failed so you can, also, prevent someone else from failing at a similar extent.
Many people —especially Young entrepreneurs— are afraid to start their businesses. They have many excuses. But really the excuse is just “fear”. Could be fear of failing or fear of not meeting the expectations of the world.
While FuckUp Nights PAP is planning many more upcoming activities such as on-air shows and small conferences, we invite you to join their professional social medial platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram) so you can stay up-to-date on the latest events.
Remember, our goal is for you to do better in all your undertakings. So let’s start by purging your fears and work on that business you have always dreamed of. It’s OK to fail. But when you fail, learn again, and start over.
Waww je ne sais quoi dire…
