This Valentine Day — Just Like Any Other Day

There are so many holidays that I don’t celebrate, starting with Valentine ’s Day. Perhaps it is because of my belief system or religion. Regardless, I don’t believe you should have just one day (one day only) to celebrate those you love.

Whether it’s your partner, your parents, or whoever it is, every day should be a day of celebration for their friendship, relationship, love, and kindness.

What you can do starting today is not to wait for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day to celebrate those you admire. But whenever you could, definitely celebrate with them.

Showing love or celebration could be done through diverse means. We’re not talking of big parties or gatherings here. I personally love the simple means which include buying something nice, dinner outings to a nice (random) place, at-home dinner, or do something unexpected that translate appreciation.

The bottom line is: Just show some love!

Now you understand why I’m not hyped for Valentine’s Day. No need to wait for the day the world tells you to celebrate. But enjoy and cherish every moment whenever you can because you never know when life hits you with an illness or tragic events. You don’t want to reach that point where you say “I wish I had done this or that”.

It’s sad to never have the chance to make things right when you actually had enough time to do things right. Just think about it for a moment.

On the other hand, if you know your wife or husband wants something special or desires to celebrate Valentine’s Day, please don’t stop them though. Enjoy with them. Because life-together is all about find the middle ground to live happy and content.

What matters the most is to always celebrate life and love every day. As long as you’re breathing. As long as you’re able.
