A Happier And Healthier YOU
2018 is just hours away. Many of us are still trying to find out how we will make the new year a better year. I’ve had some great years since my twenty-eight years leaving on this planet, and I am very grateful thus far. Nevertheless, 2018 is set out to be yet another exceptional year for me —and I wish the same for you too.
How do we make 2018 a better year? I am sure that there are few adjustments that can be made to ensure that the New Year brings nothing but greatness. Few things are worth listed here.
- New daily habits. You have some flaws that even you can’t believe that you actually do these things. Sometimes, you can’t achieve your plans because of some negative and repellent daily habits. For instance, you always running to work. Let’s just say you’re always running and rushing. Why not prepare when you have to go somewhere so you don’t have to be in a rush every time you have to go somewhere. How about advance prep? Well, this might not be the behavior that you want to fix. But think about it and see what type of behaviors need to be altered.
- A new diet. Don’t feel bad, I write this as my New Year goal as well. We all slip sometimes in our eating habits. Sometimes we tend not to think of the consequences some actions might lead to. We just want to satisfy the desire –the lust of indulging in some unhealthy foods. So it’s time to think of the after-effects and embrace new behaviors that will lead to a healthier you -—and me. So go to your cabinets and fridge, and make some adjustments next year in the way you eat. Perhaps some fruits and vegetables less rice and beans —considering you’re from the islands like me.
- New character: yes you can change your character. Sometimes it is us that do not upgrade our character despite our spiritual and intellectual enhancement. Start acting like the person you truly are and stop acting like you never changed at all. Your character tells partially who you are. I know some folks when I was 12 years old and they’re still acting like they were 12 when they’re actually 30 years of age. It is time to act your age…I mean to be the matured person that you are.
- Be humble. Humility is wisdom. It’s good to say less and be wise instead of saying more and show arrogance. Humility does not mean quiet. But a humble person attracts more blessings to his life. Consider being humble if you were not in the previous years. And if you are a humble individual, keep it up! Perhaps strengthen your humble comportment towards your surroundings.
- Spend less save more. I’ve become a fan of savings. In a span of one year, I’ve achieved so much just because I’ve learned the power of savings. I’ve read countless books, listen to numerous podcasts, and follow major financial gurus to learn how I can get my hands on anything that will open my eyes in new savings habits. And it worked. But I am not there yet. Hence, I aim to get better in savings and to definitely consume less than the previous years.
- Keep a positive attitude…at all times. I have to admit. This sound like a hard one. It would seem nearly impossible to stay positive “at all times”. That means even in difficult times, you need to keep your optimism and be confident that things will work. Sound like the Apostle Paul “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good….” if the Bible says it then it is possible. It’s easier to say then done. But it can be done. Just try. Try to say positive in dark days. Don’t attract negative this new year. Stay positive about all your doings.
You never know, this might be the key to a better year yet. If you want to add some more items to this list, be sure to do so as we wait for a happier and healthier us next year.
You don’t need to have millions in the new year to be happy or healthy. You don’t need to make major moves, but most importantly small steps are always the wisest and more important phases in life.
Can’t wait to see meet the new happier and healthier YOU!
