RCNS-Haïti, The Brain Behind 2020’s Global Leadership Summit At Port-de-Paix

As nearly 300 hundred participants joined the Global Leadership Summit at Port-de-Paix on November 28th and 29th, the Christian-based association RCNS-Haïti, helped achieve this event’s unprecedented record,  which has been hosted for the past 13 years at Port-au-Prince. If you never heard of the RCNS (French)― is a Christian-based Network Working for a New Society― or the Global Leadership Summit,  this article will guide you through the restlessness of these young leaders and the immense event they were at the heart of.

What you need to know about RCNS-Haïti

Founded 2 years ago at Port-de-Paix, RCNS-Haïti has gathered some impactful events, proving to their community that young Christians can and do have their say in the rebuilding of our society. From economic forums to social activities and biblical contests, the young yet promising association is on the right path to make citizens contributors to the new society that must be built.

Added to this, they have successfully managed to broadcast this year’s Global Leadership Summit at Port-de-Paix. Besides being a worldwide event broadcasted in over 50 countries including Haiti, this year’s success couldn’t be possible without RCNS-Haïti and BARNABAS CLC assuring social distancing measures as well as first-aid assistance for an over 300-people assembly.

RCNS-Haïti, The Brain Behind 202 Global Leadership Summit

What the Global Leadership Summit should mean to Haitian leaders

There is no need to mention that many social events for the past decade focus on leadership and yet do not deeply impact those who are concerned. Is the message sent to the wrong audience or doesn’t the latter understand the message? Either way, Haitian leaders should definitely look at leadership as a mindset for ‘’not only getting better but helping others get better as well’’ as famously put by GLS 2020 speaker Dr. Thomas Chamorro-Premuzic.

Furthermore, the GLS as a two-day live broadcast invites participants to question their faith regarding their implication as responsible citizens in the quest for better communities. Therefore, Haitian leaders of all sorts must take responsibility and refer to this famous quote of Abraham Lincoln that says ‘’You can’t escape the responsibility of tomorrow by escaping it today’’.

As individuals, communities, thus, a society, we have duties and duties for what they are, need no one else’s implications than ours. If seminars, conferences, and summits about leadership aren’t convincing enough, then the real existence of RCNS-Haïti is an example of how taking responsibility and being involved is the key to the society we so long sought after.

With 2021’s Global Leadership Summit applications already open, it is a duty call for all of us that reminds us of the role we have to play by taking small actions and being an impactful community as the RCNS-Haïti restlessly keeps working for. Leadership belongs to no particular social group or religion; it resides and grows where everyone takes action and helps their peers get better.
