Char Ly: Explorer At Heart Shares Her Passion for Haiti and To Visit Every Corner of The African Continent

Some people live just to exist. While others wake up every day and want to experience the best that life has to offer. Char Ly does not only want to live, but to experience different cultures from every inch of this planet. Char is an avid traveler, and she has visited over 45 countries thus far.

Born and raised in Haiti, she moved to the U.S. at the age of 12. Over the years of living in the U.S., she had yearned to see more of the world. However, she never had anyone to go with her. In 2012, she made the decision to take a solo trip abroad and never look back.

While she is interested in visiting every country in the world, her passion is clearly in growing her travel company Haiti Nou La.  She has traveled to pretty much every department of Haiti. Before starting the company, she realized that most people –who are born and raised in Haiti– only have real experience of the area where they were born. While this is the norm for most of us in the Haitian diaspora, she wanted to shift that. With some help, she saw what tourism can do for Haiti; therefore, she and her friend started Haiti Nou La to showcase the beauty of Haiti by curating wonderful trips for individuals interested in visiting Haiti, to learn more about its fascinating history and experience its wonderful culture, while promoting economic growth in Haiti.

Another one of her passion is to visit every African country in the near future. She has visited 9 so far and expressed just how incredible the experience has been. Different countries in Africa are in a way very similar to Haiti. They have so much to offer, but not many people see that. She would like to change that by curating trips to Africa as well.

Furthermore, she is an event planner who is also a Certified Travel Specialist for the southern African countries. She is at your service if you would like to plan a trip to several countries throughout Africa. She has a big summer trip coming up where she will add 8 new African countries to the list.

Her advice for those aspiring travelers is to just go. There are more good people in the world than there are bad ones. The best experience is the one you create yourself.
